Is an annual ceremony celebrated for the first time in Dakar, Senegal. It will take place on the first day of Kwanzaa on December 26. This will be the first time to unify and solidify Kwanzaa as a pan-African global celebration with Kwanzaa Founder Dr. Maulana Karenga and Grandfather of Pan-Africanism Marcus Garvey's son Dr. Julius Garvey.
Unity Day was first triggered by the Renaissance Conference held in Dakar at the Place du Souvenir Africain in November 2022 and organized by Pan-Africanists Meredith Beale and Oko Drammeh of Soto Koto Media Entertainment.
The Unity Day fire was lit by a major spiritual ritual held near Thies, Senegal, dedicating the Spirit of Marcus Mosiah Garvey with his son Dr. Julius Garvey to the Tree of Ancestors on November 5, 2022, officiated by Priest Shekhem of Ngagor, Ashraka Ata Menkare and Queen Priestess Shay Haynesworth near Thiès, Senegal.
We are now giving birth to Unity Day, continuing the momentum of this revival with a global declaration to all Pan-Africanists. UNITY DAY is a call from the African people to the descendants of Africa; The Diaspora; those dispersed by the Maafa to return to the embrace of our eternal African family and for all Africans to unite!
The next phase of pan-African development began with Unity Day. It is the beginning of the large-scale integration of the African continent with its Diaspora family members in spirit, presence, marriage, economy, and much more.
The first day of Kwanzaa is the holy day of Unity. What its founder called Umoja. What is the Wolof term mBollo. What we call Omnala. The remaining principles for each holy day of Kwanzaa are self-determination, collective work, and responsibility, cooperative economy, purpose, creativity, and faith. Each is extremely important as we resurrect our global civilization.
Africans live in large numbers on all continents under diverse conditions. While a few have great wealth and access, the vast majority struggle searching for hope and feel alone. Now is the time to raise the banner of our Father, Heru Marcus Garvey, and follow his decrees.
“No one knows when the time will come for the redemption of Africa. It's in the wind. It happens. One day, like a storm, it will be there. Arise, mighty race, do what you will. One God, One Purpose, and One Destiny!”
